I’m into Hedi’s more minimalistic uptight and serious look he polished at Saint Laurent. The sleekness of everything is just very beautiful. I do think it is still available at Celine, it just isn’t being spotlighted as often.

Ironically, I think the wearer of Celine can be more badass because the newer relaxed silhouette allows the wearer to carry more muscle mass. That Saint Laurent model looks great in fw15 and ss16, but he’s definitely not badass at all. If he was a rockstar with talent then I can imagine his status carries him enough. I doubt a lot of ***** is getting wet from his naked body alone.

I felt there were more distressed and sleeveless options from SLP for sporting progress at the gym. Many of the jackets and skinny denim made it quite apparent when you let your diet go. Relaxed silhouettes will hide a quarantine "covid 15" body better in my opinion.????

Yeah I think you're right about Saint Laurent offering more than just the narrative Hedi was painting. There were D01s and D03s for people with a more muscular build. Things can be sized up. This makes me think back about Hedi's styling process. Working around the body to achieve the aesthetic rather than forcing a pre-constructed look on a model.

Recreating the "iconic" Saint Laurent look using Celine pieces is pretty easy. It just isn't being spotlighted as the brand's signature style.

I used to dislike this Triomphe monogram style, but I've warmed up to it.

I think there will be a new "badass" as society moves towards a more voluminous silhouette. 2013 was when the universe just aligned itself and resonated with me. I doubt this situation will ever happen again for me, and I'm at peace with it. I'm fine appreciating from afar while keeping in my own lane personally.

I'm gonna keep it real with you: I've tried and/or bought three pairs of Celine jeans, and I'm not terribly happy with any of them. I tried and sent back the skinnies, and kept the first flares and the slims. Teh button tore off of the flares, and they're probably going in the garbage. The slims I ordered from end for a steal and kept merely because returns was a pain. I don't know how much I'll be wearing them.

I've owned many pairs of Hedi SLP and Vacc too, and they've all been pretty ******* great. I want Celine to be good, but I'm belatedly starting to lose faith in these traditional Hedi designs there. The only pieces I've bought that I've really, really liked are the boots and the button down shirts!

I'll note that Kieran seems to be returning 90% of the stuff he's buying. We haven't heard from hediboy in months.

I'm more looking at his SLP stuff on grailed and eBay and stuff. Also, some of his Dior stuff intrigues me, but I haven't bought any of that yet. I'm open to the idea that he's moved on from people like me, which I'm cool with.

Also, that girls does look cute in that Dancing kid sweater

This is going to be part of the new normal. Basketball sneakers + wool coat. I think it was a missed opportunity that I don't remember the Saint Laurent team pushing bags as hard on guys as the Celine team.

If the actual products do not look like runway, then I think the Celine team is at fault. This isn't the first time that the actual production pieces has deviated from how Hedi intended for it to be on runway.

If the items in the stores aren't looking like how Hedi is presenting them on the runway then I can understand. I do suspect a couple of possible scenarios.
  • they modify the actual production release pieces to be wider to accommodate the modern luxury consumer
  • the sizing is not 1:1 with Saint Laurent and pieces need to be sized down

This whole scenery makes sense with Hedi's Celine narrative.

skate pants and CT-02s. I wonder if the market that is into this trendier silhouette would want to buy it from Celine. I know that Hedi fans who fell in love with the super sleek look is definitely not into it at all.

Same man. I recently got another pair of the FW13 single knee rip oil stain denim and a completely unworn pair of black raw D02's from FW13.
