Thorns the ties with casual jackets is something Hedi has done quite a bit before. Some looks from AW15 come to mind if I remember correctly, and then of course ties with jeans and blazers were all over the place for AW14. It looks pretty smart and is something I used to see around quite a bit with young indie type kids on their way to work with denim or leather jackets.

I just think that everything has shifted towards being more casual which explains a bit of the lack of interest. One of my favourite things to wear is my permanent collection black two button blazer with a white Yves / Dylan collar shirt, black skinny jeans, skinny belt and cropped jodhpur boots, but I look overdressed at most places and for most occasions these days in the UK, whether it's a restaurant, bar or club. Going back 10 years or so you couldn't even get in a lot of places dressed casually.

I love tailoring and of course there'll always be a place for it, I just can't really imagine putting on for example a chesterfield or caban for a night out at this point other than among an older crowd without looking out of place, whereas before this kind of thing was cool, especially back in the 2000s.

I own the Camargue 40 and they are really fine boots, very nice and confortable. But I think this back zipper is a disgrace. The buckle is a very subtle detail and this zipper is a little too harsh. Maybe better if it was gold toned, and also if it was a branded Pull instead of a generic ykk.
Yes, I have the jacno 40's and feel the same way about the zipper. They're really comfortable though.

thorns: have you got any pics in your database of the 60 mm camargue harness Chelseas in suede? Also, of the boule leather jacket?

Yes, I have to agree that I'm not a huge fan of the back zipper. I love the back buckles though.

Just watched a video on YouTube with a guy buying the new hoodies in yellow and pink, so it looks like they're getting some attention from a new kind of market already. Not my style but I have to admit the font looks very clean and appealing. I could possibly be tempted by the white studded logo T-Shirt though, that looks pretty nice just for under jackets and hoodies.

Now that you mention it, I've only ever seen the Camargue Biker with the dangling chain in black calfskin only. It felt like Hedi was a lot more excessive (or thorough) at Saint Laurent where each model had multiple variations and each variations had multiple leather types to choose from.

Based on the style, I feel like you can imagine rocking it in looks where you would wear a denim jacket with as well.

Is the last picture the western leather bomber from Celine?

I'm pretty sure it is just a vintage piece and not from Celine. The collar feels a bit larger and outdated, and the leather quality doesn't look as good.

@thorns who is this / IG ?

I really like the whole outfit. I always thought (from pictures) this SL chain was a bit too thick/short but it looks really good here.

I usually save their IG photos onto my hard drive because early on I noticed many people suddenly would wipe their accounts out of nowhere and I would lose the photos I saved on my account. For the ones that I have saved, I usually don't know where it came from again. The ones I haven't saved yet onto my hard drive, and are on my to-do list on Instagram, I can still link their original post. Now based on the angle, of the picture and the chin, my guess would be Joker.

I couldn't find that picture on his instagram though, or any instances of him wearing that chain. So, I'm not 100% sure to be honest.

This was the only boot I was mildly interested in but ultimately didn't buy because of the pointer toe. I might feel different if I had the opportunity to try them on. At some point I'll try out a pair of Celine boots.

I could care less how out of place I look. I'm wearing what I like. I'll go to the beach wearing black jeans and wyatts.

Same.

Let's not forget that even tailored suits can look very badass if worn properly, and not like you're going to waste life in a cubicle.

Personally my own style philosophy is to attain harmony with my setting. If I'm at a more run down part of town, I would want to look a bit grungier. If I'm at a more upscale event, I would want to be more dressy. If I'm somewhere in-between then I will dress somewhere in-between. I would only deviate from this if I'm purposefully wanting to clash with my setting. This philosophy stems from how I've noticed the director of movies and tv shows manage their character's wardrobe. Clothes are often not the core focus of the story, it is the character and what they do that is on full focus. The clothes/accessories just complement them, rather than being in the spotlight. I think this makes it easier to give off an effortlessly cool vibe, despite it being very meticulously manufactured in reality.

Personally, I've been playing with Hedi's ss02 silhouette when I'm wanting to dress up in a suit for fun. Bought a cheap suit just to mess around with. Instead of those monkey boots, I just wear my ss13 army lace ups.

Wearing more casual chunkier footwear in general feels like a great way to tone down how formal a suit is. This has been one of Hedi's templates for a long time. I kind of wish it caught on more.
