OK here goes, any help is appreciated. As you can see I have a pretty narrow foot, I also have a low instep and sometimes I need a felt tongue pad so that the quarters don't overlap when I tie my shoes.

Alden Leydon - 12.5C (12D might work, haven't gotten a chance to try it yet)
    Alden Barrie - 12B (shoes) 12C (boots)
    Alden Trubalance - 12B
AE 5-last - 12D (too tight in the toebox, surprisingly had some success going all the way up to 13B and adding a tongue pad, probably 12.5B would be best but I've never seen that)

Simpson - 11UK (tiny bit snug on my pinky toe, most likely would feel better with some wear as the shoe breaks in)
Rain - tried 11UK but felt way too wide, didn't have a chance to try 10.5UK
Alcudia - what size would I be here based on the above, 11UK?
Robert - would this work for me at all or is it too wide? I've heard the lacing can be quite snug, so maybe that will work with my low instep

Been reading the Epaulet MTO thread and have seen really interesting make-ups. But need some sizing advise since I haven not physically handled any Carmina before. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

My foot is narrow and does not have a lot of arch.
    Brannock = 8.5C US
Alden Barrie PTB and Trubalance Boots = 8C. The Trubalance actually has more room but I compensate with thicker socks since it is a casual boot.
Alden Leydon = 8.5D on the suede chukka unlined. A bit of room in the right which is my smaller foot. I can compensate with lacing.
    Alden Plaza = 8.5C, 8 D is snug
AE (Strand) # 5 = 8D or AE (PA) 8.5C. Both of these actually fit. But I do feel that the at the end of the day, the Strand “pinches” my left pinky toe. So I think PA 8.5C wins a bit because it is longer.
LS GC Thomas = 7.5D UK (which I think is 8.5C US)

First question, does Carmina offer widths? From all the discussions, it doesn’t look like they do. Is this correct?
Second, which of the Carmina lasts are naturally like a US C width.

In my browsing, I am interested in the Simpson, Rain, Robert and Forest. Some insight/thoughts on sizes for these lasts based on info I provided?

    Thanks for the help.

If you are a C width, forget Rain altogether. Simpson will likely work well.

I am looking to get my 1st Carmina.

I have Meermin New Rey, EG 888, Septieme Larguer in 199 lasts, all in UK6.5E.

What will I be ordering in the INCA last? UK6 or UK6.5?

I have similar feet, although a different size. Carmina doesn't offer narrow widths. It does offer a wider fit on Forest and, I think, Rain.

    My best guesses on sizing:

    Simpson - 7.5UK
    Rain and Robert - 7UK
Forest - not sure. 7UK might work, but I'd worry about the length.

Thanks. Simpson has got 2 votes so I'll give that a try first in terms of choice. 1 size less than my 8.5C size?

I have Forest-lasted balmorals and blucher boots. The bals fit pretty well and a half size smaller were too tight when I tried them on. I think I could go down a half size on the boots, though. So I'm not sure what to suggest. The last has a rounded toe, which is why I wrote that I'd worry about length if you went the same size as Rain and Robert. You might check with Mike at Epaulet.

As for Simpson, I think a half size down from Barrie size should work.

Interesting thing happening with the boots vs. shoe fit. I've heard this from Alden Barrie as well. But for the Barrie, people observed that the boots fit tighter which make sense to me due to the lacing. It seems like your experience is the opposite. Having said that, it probably won't matter for me because I'm not keen on boots, at least for now. Doesn't get that cold where I live.

    Thanks for the insights!

Hello all, looking to buy my first pair of carmina's. Am considering a carmina austerity brogue on the simpson last.

The best fitting shoe I own is a pair of Allen Edmonds 8.5D park avenue (5 last).

What would be the recommended comparable sizing?

    Any advice is much appreciated!

    Thanks in advance :)

I wear a 9D for the Park Avenue. I have an austerity brogue in the Simpson last in an 8UK and it fits wonderfully. My reco would be a size 7.5UK.

    Anyone with similar measurements?

    Inca - 8UK (perfect fit)

    Simpson - 8UK (perfect fit)

Rain.....7.5UK (perfect fit) When I tried Rain in 8UK I was amazed to find it was too loose with quite some room.

I'm 9US TTS and wear Alden 9D Plaza last and the fit is great.

Similar experience here. Simpson 8UK is near perfect. I was swimming in the 8UK Rain that I tried, so I would order a 7.5 in the future. I wear an 8.5D Barrie/ Trubalance and 9C Van.
