I'm thinking about buying a pair of Carmina Double Monks on the Inca last. Most likely "Salinger Double Monk Brown Calfskin" from Epaulet or maybe "Carmina Inca 80250 Double Monk - Calf Brown" from The Armoury.

Anyway, on The Armoury sites description of the shoe it says "A wider than usual last..." And I'm usually more comfortable in a little wider than usual lasts.
For reference, some shoes I own or have tried on:
Allen Edmonds Park Avenue in US 8E. These fit just about right.
Church's Perth (last 73), in UK 7G. These are a tad too snug. I think its more of a length problem than a width problem though. 7.5G would've probably been a better size for me in retrospect.
I've tried a pair of C & J Lowndes on and they, strangely, seemed to fit me fine in 7.5E (they're only made in E width I believe).

I've got a pretty high instep, but now with these being monks I shouldn't have to worry about getting the V-shape below the laces...

So, of course it's hard to say but what I'm wondering is if anyone has any idea which size out of UK 7 or UK 7.5 would most likely fit me better. I'm leaning towards 7.5 currently. But as it's usually compared to a 8.5 in US sizes and the last is "wider than usual" I'm afraid they might be too roomy.
Well, any input is appreciated. Thanks!

For this shoe and last, I would advise sizing down one full size from your US size.I bought the Salinger fm Epaulet...Im a US9D and took a UK8...fits perfectly and my feet are on the larger side of a 9D. For Rain and Oscar Lasts, I have to size down by half to get a good fit.

I haven't seen any narrow feet purchases discussed here on in the other threads, but I'd love some input as I wait for The Armoury to chime in too. I am a 13 A/B on the brannock and I've tried on a 11.5UK double monk on the Inca and Rain lasts (all they had) and they felt great, however I am scouting a couple of pairs on the Simpson, given how narrow it is and it's awesomeness. People have mentioned sticking with the same size the Inca/Rain, or stepping up 0.5. Given my narrow feet and the slightly elongated Simpson...thoughts on sticking with the 11.5UK versus going with the 12UK, or would the narrow last work at 1.0 size down?

Hi, I am a 6UK on Meermin's Ama last and will be getting a 6UK wingtip on the RAIN last late too early next year and am wondering how sizing goes. The ama last would be better if it was a little wider so I am thinking of the rain because it is described as 'wide' and comparable to the inca last in width. What would you say is it nice and wide? (Especially in the waist)

    Thanks

Would Carmina happen to do returns if the fit is not right?

    Hi guys,

I have a pair of carmina 10.5 uk on the forest last and they fit great as my feet are a little on the wider side. Will the robert last fit me ok or will it be too narrow?

    Thanks!

the robert last is definitely narrower than the forest. i'm kinda the opposite, so the robert last fits great and the forest is a little wide. i'm not sure if i could go down half a size on the forest though, as it fits better after i've walked around a bit.

Hey everyone, I picked up some Carmina's in the Alcudia last.

Here are some comparisons to some C&Js:

    C&J Hallam 348 (6.5UK) / Carmina Alcudia (7UK) / C&J Unknown Last (7UK)

In terms of sizing after a quick try on, the Carmina's sit somewhere in between the 6.5UK and 7UK C&Js in terms of the toe box, which is perfect for me.
As mentioned previously, the Alcudia's have quite a low instep.

    Hope that helps.

Guys, Forest last has two widths: E and EE, so you need to say which one you are referring to. I find my Forest E shoes narrower than Rain or Soller last shoes (both EE), and just slightly more roomy than Simpson last which I tried on (all in 10UK).

i got my forest last shoes from epaulet (fitzgerald shortwing) and i believe they are width E. mike has mentioned that the forest last can be special ordered in a "true wide" width, so i assume this is EE. i'm getting a MTO pair in the rain last (E width) soon, so i'll have a comparison to forest and robert.
