I love the material: it's a textured wool (100%) which is fairly soft. It seems to be made of fairly substantial yarn. As for warmth, I can't gauge very well, as it was 85 F here today, but I'd say it's somewhere between a blazer and a coat. I imagine it will be good into the 50s, but it's certainly not a winter coat. As for pilling, it's hard to say. Give the number of different fibers, it might pill, but I really have no basis for judgement.
I will also say that the folks at BBJ were very easy to deal with and responsive to all requests, and they shipped lightning-fast.
No, it doesn't. They're patch pockets which have the same poly lining that's in the rest of the jacket. I originally was going to get the long coat, which looks amazing, but realized I have almost no opportunities to wear one, then saw the blazer on teh BBJ site. That fabric is amazing - we are carrying the coat this season (chesterfield shape) and I love the hand of that fabric.
Does the blazer also have that crazy soft sherpa lining in the pocket?
Someone should get these for chilling in: https://www.c21stores.com/products/pants-400?color=Indigo
