It comes out in March every year and since Founders is in Michigan, he should have no problem finding it next Spring when it comes out. The batches aren't as small as you'd think, I know several places here in Chicago that have 3-4 cases they sit on and occasionally release every couple of months or so. I am just looking for 2 more bottles to sit on, I've had plenty of KBS, but if can find some I'd definitely send him some of my better vintage or rare stuff.

Binnys has first dibs on it, but no one else gets an allocation like that. He should be able to find it in MI in the spring though.

depends on the relationship with the distributor and if it's a specialty store or not. i know several places and owners who get quite a bit more product for their store than binny's does. my brother personally has an entire case of vanilla bourbon county on reserve for me because he's got a great relationship with his goose island rep. the liquor business is like any other service industry, the more people you know, the better you are treated and the better the benefits...

Haha, I know it from spending a ton of $!

You are right of course, but as you said, with those specialty stores you need to be in with them because most of the truly rare stuff never hits the shelves.

if you only spend $ then you don't know the half, i've spent $$$ and i've been more lucky through trades getting those "whales". you are right though that you have to be in the know and i just so happy to be one of the lucky ones.

i am heading to three floyds next weekend if anybody wants something, i know they're releasing a collab with DFH that was aged in brandy barrels...

Goose Island Matilda is becoming a favorite of mine. So is Great Lakes Brewing Edmund Fitzgerald and Eliot Ness.

Edmund Fitz is my beer of choice at the bar I go to on the weekends.

Guys, got a couple of these beer glasses today and absolutely love them!!! The shape really captures the aromas and the way the lip curves outwards ever so slightly makes a big difference dispersing the beer across your tongue.
