Just found a box of 5 Jester King farmhouse ales and a bottle of Hopfenstark Boson de Higgs from 2014 in my cellar... hopefully still alive. :embar:

Edit: The Boson de Higgs is still pretty good. Quite smoky. Didn't expect that.

All empty now, all very enjoyable (my least-favorite probably was the cedar-aged one... not very balanced). So 3 years of aging for a Farmhouse Ale doesn't mean they're dead or flat or whatever.

Stumbled into a Freigeist tap takeover at BeerGeek Bar in Prague tonight. It was a good time. Lots of Sibeeria too

I probably drank way too much in CZ. This was great, even for the label alone, and thought it was better than the BA Brandy version I had on tap last night:

Sadly, despite hearing that I had to try their beers, this wasn't anything remarkable:

Anyone have any suggestions for a brewery tour and good bars in LA? Will be staying in Silver Lake for a bachelor party and am only familiar with Monkish

Highland Park brewing is amazing, and not too far from Silverlake.

Down by Monkish in Torrance there are a bunch of spots.

Mikkeller Bar downtown is also worth a stop--they have very very fresh stuff from their new SD brewery.
