Just found a box of 5 Jester King farmhouse ales and a bottle of Hopfenstark Boson de Higgs from 2014 in my cellar... hopefully still alive.

Edit: The Boson de Higgs is still pretty good. Quite smoky. Didn't expect that.

All empty now, all very enjoyable (my least-favorite probably was the cedar-aged one... not very balanced). So 3 years of aging for a Farmhouse Ale doesn't mean they're dead or flat or whatever.

New (to me at least) Hill Farmstead. Tasty. They also had an IPA in cans for on site consumption.

Highland Park brewing is amazing, and not too far from Silverlake.

Down by Monkish in Torrance there are a bunch of spots.

Mikkeller Bar downtown is also worth a stop--they have very very fresh stuff from their new SD brewery.
