Yeah I've never had a bad trade here. People usually send extra things too. Like tooch sent me glasses or bdeuce sends rare stuff. It's gotten to the point where I anticipate more/better stuff so I try to include an extra bottle or so.

Bcbs bw made another round here a few weeks back. I'll ask around to see if stores are getting more.

Sounds like he might've shipped it and it's just taking a long time to get there. Fingers crossed.

I don't have any BCS Barleywine, but I've got last year's BCS, Coffee, '10 KBS and some other random barrel aged stouts in the fridge. If ya want 'em, I'm sure we can think of something...

Did they actually peat it? I wonder if they peated the malts?

Shouldn't that be relatively easy to do? It would just be the same process as smoking the malt for rauchbier I would think. I wonder why there haven't been more peated beers released. I guess maybe because there's only like one place in the world that makes smoked malt?

oh you're right. rauchbiers especially from germany tend to be super heavily smoked. not a big fan of that. all you taste is smoke

Did I send you a Jester King Censored? They smoked at least some of the malt in that at Salt Lick BBQ. It's pretty good, and not overly smoky.

Had some friends over tonight, and wanted to help them forget their troubles. Aside from other things I've already posted, we had:

Really quite nice; even better than I was expecting, actually.

Amazingly, I'd never had this before. Fantastic aroma, even better taste. Wonderful.

This one seemed more mild and subtle, possibly because it was paired with a rather hot meal. A rather enduring sweetness at the end.

Nope... Dude PM'ed me, said the package came back to him (undamaged fortunately), he has shipped it out again and has provided me with a tracking #.

Life is good... And StyleForum is still 100% solid 2008-2014 :slayer::slayer::slayer:

Stille Nacht 2012. Such a good balance between calvados, cider, and beer :)

Is that the new or old batch of Nocturn? I had the new one a few weeks ago, thought it could use some time. It tasted like blackberry jam to me, but there was no sourness to it. I have a year old one though that I want to try soon ti see if it's better.

It may be old and well known, but I definitely enjoyed a Three Philosophers at the end of this evening.
