I'm in heaven drinking Port's Angel's Share on tap at Beer Revolution. Thick, viscous, tastes of candied sugar, fig, chocolate. Rich, heavy, amazing. Best beer I've had on tap EVAR. Although the Midnight Sun Hop Dog Wheat DIPA was a pleasant surprise. Worth it if it's cheap - for some reason Alaskan beer is pricey :(

I think Hitachino Nest White Ale is one of the most delicious beers that I've drank in a long time. Furthermore, the glasses they make are cool as hell:

Bear in mind that the glasses are small - 12 ounces - to fit the whole bottle's worth.

Tried the Stone Black IPA. Seriously, this shit is like drinking bong water. It tastes like they replaced the hops with weed. And not in a good way.

The Escondidian? Are you crazy? You must have gotten a bad bottle, that's the best black IPA around

Also, 4 pints of the Angel's Share will make you drunk. True story.

I could see why someone wouldn't like it. It does taste somewhat like weed and the intense bitterness isn't quite balanced by the malt like stout would be. However, I enjoyed it in a 9oz snifter over about 45 minutes. I wouldn't want more than that.

    That's because a black IPA isn't a stout, it's a black IPA...

Isn't it functionally a merging of an IPA and a stout?

No, it's really it's own style, but I can see why you'd think that way. Here's a description:

    American Black Ale

Also referred to as a Black IPA (India Pale Ale) or Cascadian Dark Ale, ales of this style range from dark brown to pitch black and showcase malty and light to moderate roasty notes and are often quite hoppy generally with the use of American hops. Alcohol can range from average to high depending on if the brewery is going for a "dobule / imperial" version.
