Hello everyone,

I did a thorough search and although a few relevant threads came up (e.g., I Just Bought a... [Wine, Spirit, or Beer]), there was no one topic dedicated entirely to the sweet sweet nectar of BEER.

I love beer. I am very fortunate to have had the opportunity to have some (actually most!) of the world's best beers. My favourite type is Belgian, but I also thoroughly enjoy good stouts and porters, not to mention some good IPAs.

Here is a picture of me enjoying some of my favourite Belgians, to give you an idea of their colour

Here are three other of my favourites:

What are your favourites? I want to start brewing beer in the near future. I have tried so many different types and specific beers that I feel I need to expand my horizons to learn about beer and enjoy its deliciousness.

Any brewers here? I certainly can't be the only beer lover!

The last post was in June and I'm not just concerned about what your favourite beer is, that is a one sentence reply. I am looking for discussion about beer in general, brewing, favourite breweries, favourites types of beer, least favourite, high IBU vs. low IBU, brown vs. black, ale vs. lager, etc.

My favorite style is cask-conditioned English bitter, difficult to find in the US but not impossible here in the Northeast. Here are other favorites:

Belgian: St. Bernardus 12, Duvel, Karmaliet, Troubadour Obscura, anything from De Dolle
German: Aventinus with Vitus a close runner-up
English: Fullers ESB and London Pride
USA:
IPA - Dogfish Head 60-min.
DIPA - DH 90-min.
Barleywine - Sierra Nevada Bigfoot
Pale Ale - Ipswich Summer
Stout - Cadillac Mountain Stout from Bar Harbor, only available in Maine unfortunately

Some Northeast breweries: Pretty Things, Ipswich, Allagash
