The Sawx are a mess. Hope we bump them aside like we did last year. Chokers.

BTW I hope we hit A-Fraud or Cano in our next meeting with the Yanks. That plunking of Jones was some bush league shit.

I predicted 2 years ago when Buck was hired that we'd be in the playoffs in 2 years. Will they make it this year? Probably not, I'm not convinced the bullpen can hold up in July and August (especially with Kevin Gregg still in an Oriole uniform). I really think Matusz will turn it around. I think he loss confidence last year and has been struggling to get it back. He will end up being 1 or 2 in a very strong rotation once Zach Britton gets back. Regarding hitters...boy if Reimold could stay healthy for 2 weeks, we'd have a golden outfield. The one glaring problem is 3rd base. Mark Reynolds has got to go. You can't bat .135, make very little contact and keep a job. Honestly I'd rather have Omar Vizquel at 3rd.

I took some heat from Ed in the MLB thread by busting on Boston, but I don't just look at teams that win and lose, I look at the way they win and lose. So far I've counted no less than 6 games so far this season that last year's O's would have lost. I look at some of the games Boston lost and that team really lacks of discipline. We'll see what happens down the road, but I'm pretty happy with the way Baltimore is winning, playing all 9 innings and gutting it out like they did with Oakland.

No. You got heat because you said they "were done" in April (what I mean by that is DON'T MAKE ANY PREDICTIONS ON ANY TEAM IN FUCKING APRIL). And yeah, your prediction really doesn't hold up when a team has an epic collapse that no one could have predicted and they still should have made the playoffs. And you still don't see that. Anyway, you're on ignore now so you can have the final say in this for perpetuity.

If Boston was in last place the entire year would my prediction have been "more correct"?? They went on a run, they came back, and as I figured wouldn't be able to maintain the momentum. You should re-read my earlier post, last year I was looking at "how" Boston was losing those early season games. No team with that level of talent will under perform all year, but I knew from early onset that they wouldn't make they playoffs. Ed, I knew they were done then, after about 12 games into the season. It took you until the last at bat of game 162 to realize the same thing. Don't take this personally, but I think I've probably forgotten more about baseball then you will ever know. I don't mind being on ignore, I just wish you knew a little more about baseball to have a decent conversation about it.

Correct me if I'm wrong but weren't you also touting a pitcher's win/loss record as proof of being good (it may have been saves)? If you knew about baseball you'd also know that 12 games out of 162 is not a good sample size, nowhere even near close. That's such a fundamental flaw in any analysis you can't take it seriously in baseball, in statistics, in anything. So yes, you may know more than I ever will, fine, I'll bite. I will say its obvious that you take that knowledge and then work with horribly flawed premises and "insight" that it really doesn't matter because its just bad reasoning.

    Bye for real.

Don't leave, let's discuss. Funny how my "bad reasoning" brings me to the correct outcome. Hmm, the only discussion I remember having about pitchers wins/losses and saves may have been in advocating for John Smoltz to be in the HOF for have 150 wins and 150 saves. I also may have mentioned putting an emphasis on 20 win seasons. You have to understand, I'm serious when I say I was looking at the way Boston was losing, they were playing a lot of undisciplined ball, kind of like this year.

On another note, KC hasn't won a home game this year? Is that right?? That's tough, I'm assuming that some of your lashing out has something to do with you local sports teams not being any good.
