MOL, I do have a question for you. Is there a reason why there are no seven fold ties under 3" in width.

To answer this question would be conspiring to covering up a crime scene and make one an accomplice after the fact. No can do.

Well I am relieved to read that she is fine. Please clarify what was she shaving? Face, Legs, other? ....wait, nevermind. Answer that and this thread will instantaneously end up in DT and I suspect it is already half way there unless Dig rings in that I helped him with his shoes.

And ring in I shall! You're a magician. Not having your first two suggestions readily at hand, I went straight to option 3. In SWMBO's supply of personal care products, I found a bottle of non-acetone nail polish remover and used a rag to apply it to the affected areas of the shoes. In the top pic, I left a clear stop between the part that I had cleaned (left side) and the part that I hadn't (right side). Even with the less than optimal lighting, the results are beyond my expectations. The shoes look pristine white, now and there was no softening of the rubber from the polish remover.

You can see the residue that the remover took off the shoes and left on the cleaning rag in the picture below..

Thanks MoL. I knew I could count on you! You have resurrected my Topsiders!

Wonderful results Dig. Glad to have helped. In fact, you just taught me something; I wasn't sure if there was such a thing as non-acetone nail polish remover. I'll have to try some of that myself, thank you!

A damp terrycloth and patience should do the job.

Gonna try my luck with MOL - time to spin the wheel:

So that 'stain' i'm not sure where it is from but I was pretty darn careful and it apeared 2-3 days of owning the boots (RRL Varicks)

Tried cornstarch and a toothbrush but that didnt work.

Any other suggestions? I'm not too worried since a few people have said that this is the case with many 'Julian' boots - and not to worry/fret too much.

    Thanks!
