can't say for sure, but if it feels sturdy its probably ok. On mine, those last 2 spots near the guidi "I" and "D" had no nails so my heels were separating from the sole by like 1cm at times.

Could always ask a cobbler to add some extra nails if you wanted

Need some advice on how people deal with insoles -- specifically, making artisan boots work with custom insoles. I have found that sneakers with removable insoles are my best bet (which is why I'm interested in the Boris Bamba 1s). I have also ripped out flimsy, barely glued-on sneaker insoles (Ann D) and that can work. But what to do about leather boots?
1) Do any of the brands in this thread have removable insoles? I see Devoa has done this... any others? Or maybe brands with easily removed but "permanent" insoles?
2) For folks who really want to use their custom insoles with fully constructed boots, how do you make it work? I am thinking that if I can find a boot with a perfectly flat footbed, then sizing up and inserting my custom insoles may work. But experience tells me that it doesn't -- that the anatomical shape of the shoe's heal introduces some "binding" when the foot is pushed up an inch or so. And if the footbed has any contour at all, it's useless.
I welcome all advice and ideas.

I've always thought of Guidi, MA, Carpe, most other brands here, are inherently insole-less so you can add your own insole. The interior sole of these are incredibly hard leather (sometimes still comfortable). I always add at least a super thin cork/leather insole. You could size up 0.5-1 to pretty much any shoe and add a thicker insole too.

I've bought a pair of Guidis that came with a removable fur insole, once removed it was the regular Guidi sole.

Hmmm. That's helpful info. I never thought that the idea was to add one's own insole. Just trying to be super careful, because processing returns is a PITA, and often costly, and some retailers just won't to a standard refund, or even returns at all.

Pushing up your heel an inch is a hell of a lot, what kind of insole are you talking about here?

Welll... it's an inch at the highest point (top of arch support) but the heel lift is about 1/2 inch, so correct what I wrote above. These are custom insoles designed to fix pronation (see attached). I go without them in sneakers that already have really strong arch support, but these work wonders for other shoes.

Technically all shoes have an insole, just not a removable one. You don't need to add an insole to anything if you don't want/need to. This is normal for most shoes that aren't sneakers.

Should have added sarcasm meter, I understood Lohikaarme. Insole has multiple meanings was my point.

My bad for confusing language in previous posts, should have said I don't think shoes with hard leather insoles are that comfortable so I always add my own thin removable ones at least; to me removable insole-less shoes are a blank canvas (don't think thats what designers have in mind necessarily but it's how I view it). And I don't see a problem with sizing up a little to add thicker custom ones, especially considering removing a removable insole results in an insole. ie, Whats the difference between buying a shoe with out a removable insole and another shoe with a removable insole, if you're going to remove the removable insole anyway? Is there anything special with insoles in shoes that come with removable insoles? Don't we all end up with the same insoles in the end(sole)?

Hi everyone, I’m looking for recommendations regarding m_moria footwear. I’ve got the A_tre in black (the one in the picture) and looking to get another pair but not quite sure which model to get. Considering AAA with storm welt in black with burgundy undertone but would like to get second opinions from people with experience in the brand

It was Cruvoir. They originally encouraged me to reach out to M_Moria directly but that process has been slow going. I’ll try calling Cody at a Cruvoir again now.

Update on this - there's a plan with Maurizio and confederates to sell my faulty boots and replace them with a pair made to my specifications. It's a slow process but seems to be going according to Maurizio's plan. As such, expect an update in another six months!
