    Nah.

I've owned four pairs. It depends entirely on the leather and treatment. Horse was stiff, buffalo soft, deer middle ground, and llama is flexible but folds.

Also, seconding uzairh's question on why A1923 over IS? I've handled enough of both and would generally choose IS for comfort and leather. Shape is just to taste at the time.

edit: And I see you answered while I was typing.

I believe the technical term is "nails." (A detail which is not any weirder than most of the other stuff posted here.)

i know you do, it was more of an example of where i think nails belong in a shoe, then again some people like spikes on their shoes

I'd clean the IS boots. When those small crease develop, it's easy for dirt and grime to get in there, which will quickly start to eat away at the leather. No need to polish or the like, but just get the dirt out of there. I'd use a toothbrush or medium rough horse hair brush and just focus on those tight creases.

How hard/easy is it to get in/out and lace up the inner lace boots?

IS Boots are gel crack version- that's the discoloration (recoloration?) they're actually relatively clean, mostly because I've been wearing them a bunch in rain. Inner lace boots were difficult at first, now super easy to slip on and off. You just have to loosen the laces.

    Has this been posted before?

Like them a lot but at $750 I could just get a Guidi or used pair of L0 (IF I CAN FIND ONE IN FOR EVER)
