There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Bdude.
I wore mine today and I can categorically confirm that the matt treatment wears off to leave a beautiful normal shiny cordovan leather. It will no doubt take a while if left to its natural devices, but no doubt if you wet them and gave them a good rub and polish, they would come out as you like.
Where my jeans have rubbed on the bottom of the shaft, the leather is already looking like normal cordovan.

Just got in my Guidi 988S in Horse

Not as stunning as my CCP Tornadoes, but they're more meant to be easy beater zip boots.

I've tried A1923 before with the Horse Double Sidezip from SS13 and it was super rough to wear on my feet as well as had too many sizing differences (some combination of too loose but somehow too tight in some areas) for me to reconcile.

I don't think I've ever wanted to try again at the prices that they're going for now.

Probably going to stick with CCP, Guidi, IS as I can't ever really try CDiem and I've had no luck with A1923. I do think they are beautifully constructed though and they seem the most 'tanky' in terms of durability.

^^ my guidis are way less aggressive then my tornados, so if i don't want the high heel and the edgy boot i go guidis. They are also super comfy and go with every pant/jeans i own.

@@AlexanderTG I would go for those if pointed toe is your thing. Generally most derbies mentioned here are pretty much versatile. IS, A1923(most),Layer-0 & Guidi have a much rounded toe shape. Since you have decided on them being black, get the toe shape that appeals to you and you will be good.

Ask the likes of moo, eton or eck for CCP sizing since they have great experience handling them.

I suppose I'd rather a rounded toe now that I look at the pics again, and certainly as my feet are wide. But yeah, black is what I'm looking for. The Agustas Eton put up a couple of days ago were beautiful.

    Thanks.

My recommendation is to try Marsell first. Find a nice pair - quality is great across the board, but styles vary greatly. See how you like them. They are a pretty good entry into this sort of footwear, and you can find them for $500 or so new. Diving in with a $2k pair of shoes is reckless, IMO.

Depends on your body shape, but I would recommend taking one sz up. I'm a sz48 but had to take a sz50

@moo Perhaps he could try getting a used Guidi for a little more instead of getting a pair of Marsell. Most of their derbies have a bulbous toe. Yoox has a small selection going for $400 or so. Barney Nakhle might be another you might want to consider. $350 @ svmoscow. Quality is pretty good.

    Thanks for all your suggestions.

I actually bought these Marsells on eBay for $300[IMG]

I should have them by next week.

And I got a very nice pair of Julius x Siva spiral zips that I'm enjoying.

I guess I was just struck with how nice those CCP Bison derbies were that Eton posted.

I should probably just slow down and wait for the Marsells to come in. But the way people talk about stuff selling out so fast makes me anxious.

^^ these marsells will not compare to ccp/augusta in leather quality and feel. However they seem fit for a very casual almost summery look ( soft toe box/leather) Btw I have local vendor who stocks most marcell models and frankly i dont like any of the ones i have seen/tried. 300$ though is a great price so you have nothing to loose. However this pair will not fix your thirst for excellence ;)

    ^^Wow!

I tried to pick one I liked more but came up even.

It's so hard to imagine what that leather feels like. It looks like freaking black bronze or something.

Could be a lot softer than you think.
