    oh this discussion again..

as far as I know, Simone really was in charge for some of cd footwear and Maurizio has put his famous "Who? Simone? never worked with that guy" for his very personal reasons back in 2008.

Who cares? If you like the shoes then buy them or enjoy the pictures. This endless intrigue into welts, leather quality, who worked for who, and who ripped off who is tiresome and pure layman decadence.

exactly. niche market is still the market and it will feed the masses with lore and legends as long as the masses will be interested in. want to double your pricing? add some story.

In some cultures/practices, it is expected that the student surpass the master...regardless of that, it remains our choice to buy what we like. And right now, for me, Simone's boots are looking fantastic. As are Alessio's (and who is his "Master?").

People will look for reasons to purchase something... "oh, the Prince of Wales wore these..." or "oh, Mr. Moo wore these..." etc.

What are the differences between CCP AM/2521SX (2009) and AM/2601IL (2010-current?)? Are seamless models the same in shape, just no seam?

I am not 100% sure, but I think the 2009 model has less pointy toes.

I think that with most hobbies, enthusiasts like to know as much as possible about things. In a lot of my hobbies, I like learning about them almost as much as actually doing them. Though I agree, people should ultimately just buy what they like, there doesn't have to be some long drawn out explanation for why.

2009 SX model in COIL is much less pointy then the new ones. The general consensus is that it is the fave CCP tornado form for most CCP fans. I know i would not get anything else, luckily office can still place special order for those.

I checked with office. The main difference between AM/2521SX and AM/2601 is not just the toes, but overall profile 2521 is big and broad, while 2601 is slim and sharper. This might lead to the toebox looking slightly more pointing, but not to the extent of looking like cowboy boots. So unless you prefer a broader shoe overall (think IS derbies), go with 2601.

Also, just put down the deposit for 2601 in black :D

That said, I wonder if gray boots will be more versatile (I mostly wear black/greys). Thoughts anyone?

Well i did not care for the slim CCP tornados much cause of the pointy toe. However saw some fit pics of the am2521SX and got converted. Got the boots and f**in love them. The fit is good but snug with thin socks/thin insoles. So i might be between 9 and 10 in these ( wide eu44). will give them a chance
for few weeks and see. Once my camera is back will take fit pix. For me these are the definitive tornades ( and COIL is tough, tank grade smooth horse leather - i like it much better then the horse leather on the augusta double zips i tried)
