1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I get your point but I'd be more inclined to agree if the carpe models we're talking about were of some wildly unique aesthetic. They're just a simple, well made, utilitarian boot. It's not like boots and folding wallets didn't exist before ma+ and carpe. These aren't new concepts. They're refinements of existing ideas.

You're going to run into a lot of problems boycotting all products but those exclusively designed by one person.

Fit MAYBE a half size large if you have low arches because of the big toebox, but otherwise pretty true to size.

I get yours too. Though I think it's shallow to say what Carpe produced was just simple and well made. There was a craftsmanship there. Simple and well made can be hard feats to achieve. And while whatever was done may have been a reimagining of existing ideas, it was their interpretation. There's a reason the original Carpe Diem and the offshoot labels have so much respect.

I'm happy to let this drop on a friendly note. Buy whatever makes you happy. It's all vanity. [IMG]

As for boycotting, well, I only really follow a half dozens designers and brands anyway. [IMG]

Fair enough. I think we have different interpretations of the word 'replica'.

Pretty off topic, but just read here:

That Raw from SZ who also contributed to this thread and the leather jacket thread as Raw Selvedge took his life end of October :(

Didn't interact with him personally, but he seemed like a nice guy with good knowledge/first hand experience with stuff I liked. Sad times.

Benny was an earnest and chill guy among a fairly unforgiving scene (at times). He'll be missed.

I've decided the Julius boots are too big for me, if any of you guys are a size 12-12.5 normally these are worth a shot and I'll sell for what I paid ($380) if I can avoid listing them on ebay. Send me a pm if interested.

anyone familiar with marsell sizing? tagged size listed as 41, stated as will fit a 43 and seller claiming will fit my size 44 feet. I take anywhere from a 10 to 11 in varying width depending on brands, am I crazy to think there's no way a size 41 will work for me?
