Anyways Eton really not trying to start another argument with anyone. I was passing on the info I had and re:question I was wondering if other sf member was curious in the leather or dyeing.

    dunno
ive gotten good mileage from my guidis too, except for all the fabric which was torn around the zipper area in the back, shits gay. So, I dunno what to think...even my rick crepe combats haven't had that problem.

i'm cleaning out my closet and finally selling some stuff that didn't work out. i bought some a1923 derbies a while back and unfortunately they're a touch too small. someone asked me to post pics of them but i never got around to it until now. i'm like 95% sure they're horse leather but would appreciate some insight if anyone knows for certain (it's stiff as hell).

not to advertise too much but if you're interested in them i'm going to be posting a thread sometime soon (next few weeks) but you can contact me now. they're unworn, size 44, but fit closer to a 43 or 43.5 (smaller with insole) and I'm looking for $825 to get back what i paid. really beautiful shoes, pains me to sell them. the left shoe is considerably more visibly distressed than the right as you can see from pics. would trade for a size 45 or some *distressed* leather side/back zip boots (pref a1923 but will consider all brands)...willing to do cash + trade for boots since they're more expensive.

actually speaking of which, does anyone know where i could get a pair of distressed black (or really dark brown/grey) leather boots to fit a size 44 for below retail? looking not to spend anymore than like $1100 and willing to buy something already worn (but in good condition of course). as stated, i typically lean toward a1923/augusta boots but would consider others too. thanks.

A good cobbler will be able to stretch them out so they fit. Did you get them from AREM?

yeah i did get them at AREM. i thought about stretching them but probably would only try it if i really couldn't sell them. i don't really have a trusted cobbler and i fear stretching it might affect the upturned toe.
