Sizing is pretty annoying to get right.

Styling, well, you can MTO them so it's pretty much limited by your imagination, except obviously you can't change the lasts or anything. Jet has a pretty cool pair that's not that conservative.

don't you mean how little ramen?

we didn't actually get visual confirmation of this, although it seems likely - talking about Augusta and Adicoaijoaisoaieraoweohiuas, not CCP, Guidi, MA+ and all the other brands on here.
The new M_moria stuff is almost definitely hand made.
Don't want to confuse anyone with the "hand made" part - obviously the upper is still machine stitched.

Anyway, the major justification for the pricing is the styling, I would have to say.

I think the final production version of the m_moria stuff will be fine. The pics of the prototypes I've shared with some of you are "okay".

I'm thinking about special ordering these- I don't own anything in shell.

Long shot but wonder if anyone can ID a pair of boots I saw someone wearing today -

They were an ivory/bone coloured laceless (I think backzip) pair of boots, the colour and shape were very similar to the CCP ones below. There was a long thin tab that folded down on the back (looked a bit like a shoe horn stuck on the back), and there was a thin white lace tied around the top of the boot. No other buckles, details or anything at all. The dude wearing them was holding bags from the store here that stocks CCP, MA+ etc so I have a feeling it might be of those designers.

dear god. it isn't in the same style, that's for sure, but then again they are of a timeless style. i think they would go well with most outfits.

augusta is slightly better than ma+, which oftentimes has leather a little too insubstantial for my liking. all things equal, i'd go fo augusta. the rest are slightly less good (still good), but I like layer-0's boot profile a lot. obscur and marsell maybe on the lower end. wjk very good, based on 2009 info, which could be outdated.

however, mmoria cannot be compared to these brands. instead it should be compared to the likes of lobb, and some spanish cordovan specialists. quite simply put, after you handle a pair, you will realise that it far eclipses almost everything else. so go travel, inspect it and then you will feel the difference.

Brad - the range is anywhere between $1.8K to north of $2K. Eck had a real nice backzip that he took massive lost on recently. But that's rare to come by.

by your description it sounds a bit like he had this Augusta elastic boot: [IMG]laced up like this: [IMG]
i was told a lot of people do that with the elastic boot
however also comes to mind this MA+ backzip in white: [IMG]

the lace part of your comment throws me off a bit
    all boots are here: http://shop.hlorenzo.com/

shady, i hear that augusta > ma+ very often, i own a pair of backzip a1923 and i can say that augusta backzip vs ma+ backzip is pretty on par, just different styles, one is a bit more elegant (ma+) and a1923 is the distressed messy made to walk in boot. based on a1923 being hand made i think they take the cake from ma+ on that, nevetheless i want to own the ma+ backzip.

WJK i hear has lost quality and Jun Hashimoto has left and is doing clothing/footwear under his own name. so go to jun hashimoto directly.

mmoria: once you put mmoria in the perspective of lobb (maybe vass) it makes more sense because it is def not CD/a1923/ma+/ccp lookswise.

sadly thats the case, its a rare boot but it doesnt hold value, i saw eck and various SZ folk take loss on it, sales ranged from 1200 - 1500 i think, retail is usually $2200. At that price i personally look elsewhere and ma+ backzip is one of my grails....
