the leather MA+ uses is super soft calf/cow leather. likewise for the sole. i've vibramed the sole but left the heel untouched and the leather wears down fast. will add vibram to the heel soon on my derby.

i've also been looking at vass for dressier occasions. problem is that i don't know anything about them. also it doesn't help that some of the styling seems a bit too conservative for my current taste. we'll see...

So, what´s the deal with a diciannoveventitre boots? They have crazy mad prices. I mean, they have some really nice looking boots and shoes, but why is everything over 1000 euros??

They're not going anywhere soon I think. Why not start saving a little and still eat?

I am sure you can pickup in a few months time.

I wasn´t complaining about the prices, just wondering why they were so high. My liking of dsquared has nothing to do with what I asked. And I also didn´t criticize the brand´s products.

I think the resident tranny was saying that if you purchase $300 t-shirts, you can't really say/question the pricing of pretty much anything else, ever, never ever.

    Ever.

Well, the tees are half that price, at least the ones I´ve bought (on sale); still expensive though. Fucking customs is the responsible one for getting them up to almost $300 [IMG]

I don´t want to crap up the thread so I´ll talk some boots. There´s this interesting pair of pierre balmain boots in LVR, it has some cool looking straps and I like the design in general. Should I look into something else in that price range? I´m basing on looks now since I don´t know much about quality, but I´m trying to learn reading this thread, even if I only have one pair of boots at the moment [IMG]

LB... generally the shoemakers spoke of in this thread are:

    Augusta
    CCP
    Guidi
    m.a+
    Layer-0
    Obscur
    Marsell

They are all artisan brands and are likely all ahead of Balmain in construction and "soul". Augusta and CCP are almost entirely handmade, if not fully handmade, in much the same way that some fawned over bespoke shoes in MC are hand made. Balmain is certainly a few notches below... probably made like Alden (nothing wrong with that, but not in the same level as the other shoes). Also, the quality of the materials used are sort of a known with these aforementioned brands, season in/season out, but with Balmain, who knows where they source their leather, etc. etc.

    Just things to consider.
