    Ha thanks. If you can spend the time to put them on in the morning and don't need to take on/off your shoes throughout the day, these are pretty good (and comfy). But... yeah, they take a bit of time to actually put on.

    yeap you are right but in my view guidi consistently has fw/ss offerings which are fairly large, all sorts of options and etc. I know their first line of business is the tannery but they have diversified which is great.

    Definitely Guidi. I have a few pairs - 994s and also 017s, and they are very soft. If you want to be sure, get something in reverse stag or baby calf or another soft leather, though, ime, even the heavy horse is relatively, very soft, compared to other brands.

    Check Grailed, set up an eBay alert, and keep an eye out for markdowns at web shops. Re.porter also has used pairs occasionally. You won't find them marked down as frequently as you would a mainstream brand, but that's probably true for all brands discussed in this thread.
