/\ IIRC, IS uses Guidi leather (sometimes).
Plus for AW12-13, they will be in Guidi leather and made in Italy, not Japan.

It's not ok to get any full grain leather wet. Rule #1. Wax could help protect a little.

^that's totally wrong. Many full grain leather items do fine in rain, even when soaked. I definitely don't wear my carpes when I know it will be raining outside. And you really don't want to wear leather shoes (of any sort, full grain, top grain, etc) in the snow, not because of the water so much, but because the salt is so damaging. I've worn my carpes and other boots and been caught in the rain. Obviously I try to get out of the rain quickly, but they leather has never been damaged.

lol I wear my boots and shoes in the rain all the time - reverse, suede, regular leather - and rain has never caused any problems.

just make the drive to HLorezo, you can stop by Maxfield's and Sartorialoft while you are in LA.

I don't think there's anything else in San Fran

I'm not aware of anywhere else, either, but here is a list of online stockists. I haven't updated it in a while, though.
