Screw on studs are a *****. I couldn't ream a hole big enough so I had to use a Dremel. For anyone considering studs, save yourself the trouble and get the push-pin type.

anyone sewn darts with their shirts?

i'm considering it when i get less lazy and fix my sewing machine. I can't imagine it would be too hard, the hard part would probably be making sure they're straight (probably easiest with a checked or striped shirt).

when i get around to it, i will probably start out with two lines with a pencil or something down the back of the shirt (on the inside), making sure they're straight and evenly spaced, should be easy from there.

don't use a standard pencil there are pencils that are made for drawing on fabric also tailors chalk, also make sure to end the dart at the tip.

I'm thinking of making a stencil and going to town on an old suit. Something like this.

I dont trust my cobbler, so I topy-ed my own shoes this time. I wouldn't recommend if you have a good cobbler or don't have a steady hand. It ended up costing more than the cobbler would have charged. Still happy with the way it turned out though :)

Made use out of the long-ass DRKSHDW tag. I Just found a good spot diagonally across near the bottom and hand sewed it on

couple questions for the DIY pros:

I'm looking to get some docs to go with some of the YYPH stuff I've been getting. I want to get all black, but I don't really like how shiny the leather is. I prefer this finish:

How difficult would it be to black out the soles and stitching? just tape off the boot and spray paint it? use black acrylic? I've got access to all sorts of paint, so whatever is best.

Also, I have a levi's denim jacket that I think I want to bleach white. After i do that, I'd be interested in some kind of dark grey dye that would remain more in the seams and folds of the jacket, but come out of the larger flat spaces. I guess I want to ink wash the jacket. any suggestions?
