Timbs, cobbler to take off the factory sole and add a wedge/creeper sole in black?

    Good idea or bad?

I think that'll cost you more than the shoes are worth, I'd say no personally.

Dont do it. A wedge/creeper sole would look too polished for such a rugged boot. Result would be incoherent.

Didn't realize it was only 1 side from your first set of photos.

More photos to show the contrast? That is actually pretty nice. Nice haircut too

Didn't really mean to do the contrast, so I'll probably do the backside as well, since it's got splotches all over it. Too bad.

Anybody know anything about studding non-canvas shoes? Would I have to take them to a leather expert?

get toasty, I think it could work but I would wear them im as-is first. that way once they get beat you'll be able to tell what sort of sole would truly be suiting.

pretty cool synthese. is the backside completely black? or is it a stripe?

This cape (more pics in link) looks like it's just a long piece of fabric cut the right way to make it hang properly.
Does anybody know if it's possible to do this if I were to buy some fabric and try it?
I have beginner-level sewing skills and access to a sewing machine if necessary.

It looks like you've got a strip down the outside like tuxedo pants. that would also be interesting. good stuff.

Julius uses really expensive fabric that I think they usually develop themselves. So if you just use a cheap piece of cloth from Jo Ann Fabrics, it's going to look like crap. It might be doable but it'd be pretty hard and you'd probably have to have the piece in front of you to compare.

Well, the backside of the pants was still blue yesterday (I'd only painted one side), but I've since done the other half as well. So, they should be all white errywhere by the end of today.
