For those of you that have waxed your jeans, I'm thinking about getting the otter wax, but in that video it didn't show them ironing it, but there is some video using fjallraven wax where the guy applies the wax and then irons it.

Even if I use otter wax is it still advisable to iron the wax in or heat it somehow?

your not meant to iron otter wax, they say that the heat from rubbing it is enough. I applied fjallraven wax on a parka and then used a hair dryer to melt it in and I cant even tell its there, so if you want that waxy luster then dont use fjallraven's greenland wax

Thanks, I think I'll go ahead and get otter wax than. Planning on using it on a pair of gray jeans that have been sitting around. Do you know anything about washing waxed jeans?

Also, if I'm going to be using otter wax on 1 pair of jeans, does anyone know if I'll need more than 1 bar?

This is approaching very cool. I suppose if you want something more conservative, applying thin layers of black polish might give it a nice ethereal look with the blue shining through....

I haven't tried it, but I thrifted some old Johnston & Murphy's like this (oxblood + black) that came out really well (deep purple, multi-hued and shifting).

Or, ooh -- keep them blue, and add a bright white vibram sole and some thick white waxed laces. That could also look pretty neat.

Took 5 minutes with a seam ripper to pull the back pocket off. Looks ok but wouldn't try it with new kicks or with mixed colors.

Does it still feel waxed as normal when it's completely invisible?

How many shoes can you think of with a back pocket?

Bleach will strip the color out, leaving it not white, but that yellowish greige color.

Sweater project has taken a back seat, it's something that'll happen eventually, when I'm ready to devote my little free time for a few months. I'm working on a cowl and socks now.
