The navy blue really pops in natural light. I'm thinking about swapping in a set of colored laces, maybe red or orange. But for the moment, I don't want to take anything away from the natural beauty of these shoes.

Hate to disappoint, but with color 8, I don't think it's possible, unless you have them re-dyed periodically. Over time (like a decade or more), color 8 tends to turn lighter and more brownish. Here's another example (not my pic):

Wasn't this picture posted a few days back in the shoe care thread by someone who had stripped the finish off their shell? I could be remembering incorrectly, but if that's the case it could affect the color.

I think that in general if one regularly uses cream with heavy pigment, like saphir burgundy shell cordovan creme, the shell will keep more of its color and fade less over time.
