There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Interesting. I've used Renovateur on cordovan (and other leather) and it works quite well. I wonder if this Saphir Cordovan stuff is just the same thing.

When I bought my 403s at the San Francisco Alden Shop, the sales guy (Robert) threw in extra laces for me without me even asking. He also threw in a plastic Alden shoe horn. He said "You'll definitely be needing these things". :D

I called Steven about that shoe in that size a little over a week ago and he said they were sold out. :(

I really didn't need them anyway. This month alone i've bought a pair of the AE Bradley Shells (when they were on the website for $250), I ordered a pair of AE Daltons in Walnut Cordovan, I received a pair of Brown AE Fifth Street boots and I just ordered a pair of Alden Cigar Indy boots with commando soles and all eyelets. The Indys should be here in Jan. Rough month on the pocket book but my feet are happy!

When you get ready to sell them let me know!!! :D

I still haven't sold those Ravello LWB yet. I'm going to wait until after Christmas and try again.

What type and color of shoe polish do people use on their specialty shells? I haven't used anything so far except a little bit of the Alden Cordovan stuff on my #8's. I'm looking for something to use on my Ravello and Cigar shells. Will that neutral Saphir work?

I think the Saphir Reno is a cleaner and conditioner while the Saphir Cordovan is a cream polish that adds color. It looks like the Saphir Cordovan comes in a few different colors, including a neutral. Not sure what the difference would be between the Saphir Reno and the Saphir Cordovan in Neutral.

Robert is a very nice guy. Lots of good advice and he also threw in some tongue pads and edge sole dressing when I purchased my Cigar PTBs there last week.

I called yesterday for those same shoes. They didn't have my size (8.5 D) but do have cigar LWBs. Anyone know where I can get cigar PTBs?

    Alden brown paste for cigar
    Kiwi mid-tan for for ravello
I'm gonna get some Saphir medium brown for the #4 atoms
    Saphir black for black
    Edit - Alden #8 on #8

    Not sure on whiskey

Interesting - they had my Cigar PTBs shipped from the Alden DC shop. Did they look in that shops inventory as well for you? I think Shoemart and Alden Madison Ave carry the cigar PTBs.

Pastor I remember you posting that a while back, so when i called them up, i said, "I know you're sold out in my size, but do you have any future #4 work-ups down the line," and the fella who I was on the phone with (not Stephen) said, "Well, what size are you, we do have a few in." When i said either 9 or 9.5, he told me they had one pair of 9.5. I nearly jumped out of the bath (I just finished a long cold run, so was warming up in a hot bath), ran naked through the house (sorry if that's TMI, but its the truth) to get my wallet (the wife and kids kinda just looked at me funny-my daughter is 3 and son is 2 so naked isn't an issue yet) and ordered them on the spot. Sorry they missed you, but super glad I got em. I always find that if its a shoe I'm desperate for, something will come along, and I'm sure it will for you too.

As for polish, I only use the Venetian Creme to moisturize and follow the Mac method. I rotate wearings enough on my rarer shells and am meticulous with brushing so I really haven't had to polish yet.

Alden sells a re-branded tan polish. That's what I use, and what was suggested to me by Alden SF.

I'm not that upset. I like the color of #4 but I think a lot of my interest is because it is rare. I'm not a huge fan of the Atom design so it's not much of a loss to me. What i'd love is a pair of the 4x4 that LS had made up a while back. On a side note. I think you wear a 9D in the Barrie so how does the 9.5D fit in the Atom? I thought the sizing was the same???

Where can I get Venetian cream from?

The fit is great. They are a little bit bigger than my 9D Barries, but the Barrie in 9D is a little on the snug fit side, so the sleeker last here is a good fit in a 9.5D. I got my Venetian Creme from B&S here....
