1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

Alden is expensive in Japan and Europe.

Those are sell for about USD 1,280 nowdays.
There are almost only Black and #8 on Modified last.
Lots of store sell same design.

When I buy it from US mailorder, It for USD 960 includes shipping and Tax.
I like special color. There are lots of special colors in US.
And Lots of store sell Exclusive models.
It is very fun looking them.
Hope Japanese shop going to like them.

    Europe is more expensive sometimes.
Europe has lots of styles also.

I think There are most lots of styles of Alden in US.

I suppose it depends on what you wear, but I am frequently dressed in almost all American made clothes, both for casual and business. Items not made in the USA are likely to be European. Someone has to help support those welfare states.

Generally I tie the shoe laces quite tight, but it leaves scratch marks on the shoe tongue during normal walking,
it seems that general buffing by cloths and brush do not make them go away.

So what will you guys do to them? polishing them by wax and cream? or just leave it be as no one will notice that part?

    すごい靴どよ!

    本当にどんなように磨くているの? (ごめん、日本語を今練習していないからあまり書けない)

And here's the pair of 2146s that showed up from ebay (black shell):

For some reason the upper on the black pair is pulled a bit to the side on the right shoe. When I'm standing above them I can completely see the welt on the inside of the right shoe but the outside welt is covered up. Obviously an artifact of wear, but I've no clue how you could make that happen.

Interestingly compared to the color 8 pair the cap toe on the black is about a centimeter shorter, and the medallion is accordingly pushed further over the toe than on the color 8 pair, which you can see a bit from the pics:

Still happy though. Now I have to stop buying shoes before my fiancee gets annoyed at me dumping money on things I don't really need.
