    Q.
did you have to pay a pretty high premium for the MTO? how long did they take?
    A.
Actually, the wait time wasn't that bad- barely 6 months...the price?? well, I give a little shudder inside too... its an extra $200 for a MTO...buts its for a boot that didn't exist in a size that no one would ever carry...so, I can try and rationalize the pain away.
    High five!

    A new arrival...

....the final piece (or so I say now) to my shell-boot collection...Cigar Perf-Captoe (barrie last, leather sole, all eyelets, antique edge)...MTO courtesy of Alden-NYC.

    Well done!
that is a fantastic make up. I can only imagine how amazing that boot will look in 20 years.

Can you tell us a little about how you got them? the order process, time frame, price, etc?
I've been aware that you can do one-off Alden shoes through certain retailers (NY, SF), but have always thought that they say no to the exotic shell colors.
this gives us junkies some hope!

I'd say go with a size 14 just to be safe (you'll probably need to wear really thick socks, maybe even a couple of pairs...) [IMG]

curious about the correct Alden pronunciation.
is it Alden like "you can call me Al"?
or is it Alden like "all in the family"?

    Thanks Jason-

Well, you never know unless you ask...I asked Alden- SF and they said MTO take forever and only #8 or Black shell...

I asked Alden-NYC and they said they could do cigar....I was skeptical so, I asked them to confirm with Alden proper...which they did...and 6 months later they were on my feet.

The order process was easy once I knew what I wanted- and knew I could get it- Just told them with as much detail as possible...gave them a CC# and waited patiently...it may have been even less than 6 mos- 5 mos and 3 weeks...

Hey folks, need ome help. Need to get some polish/wax for my J Crew Tobacco longwings and am looking for recommendations. Would prefer if I could purchase the polish/wax from a website that ships cheaply to Canada as well (.ie NOT Showmart which charges $40 for anything).

    Thanks a lot in advance.

^ Can't you just pick up some tan or medium brown Kiwi locally? Cheap, works great, and no need to wait for something to ship.

I just received a pair of tan suede v-tips that I ordered online and was told they were on the barrie last, but they seem to fit incredibly snug as compared to all my other barrie shoes and boots. I was wondering if anyone could confirm the last of the shoes based on the following numbers on the inside of the shoe: top line - 0B22 028 7; bottom line - 877017. I am thinking they might actually be on the Hampton last and just wanted to see if there was any way to definitively figure it out. I am worried I might be going crazy.
