I hope they do a good job, I am sending in my burnished tan short wings to have them dyed darker brown and have the welt antiqued. I might get the flush toe taps also.

I can't speak to the other work, but the flush toe taps I got on my Alpine Grain Perf Toes were great.

NAMOR - how did you get those Ravello wingtips in a C width? Did you special order them or were they resoled down to a C?

Sorry to profane the faithful, but can anyone please help.

I'm in love with the Alden Chukka, but not the price. Can anyone suggest another option that would still wear well and be supporting enough to last a full days wear. Thanks in advance.

Again price is an issue, so my 8.5 size feet are looking to fall in love with another brand cheaper than the $422 list of the Alden Chukkas. Decent plug though.

They cost me $80 including $30 for shipping to Canada which Americans I don't think pay. A bit of a pain, but considering the supposed best cobbler in Toronto got edge dressing on a pair of tan boots and told me it was burnishing, I'll take the $30 fee to send them to NYC. I had worn the toes almost down to the welt, so the sole had to be built up first.

Those look great! Can you elaborate, via PM if you wish, as to how Canada Customs treated your boot work? I can just imagine it being a nightmare.

No hassles either way. I sent them in as "boots for repair" and they came back with "boots repaired." Canada Customs doesn't charge for such services.
