the break in procedure is to wear the shoes a minimal of three different times on carpeting to ascertain if the fit is proper for you

Ravello may be the choice, I already have 2 pair of chocolate brown loafers. I'm also looking for a black loafer but want something a little more formal and sleeker, either C&J or EG.

I'm not saying that I don't like the LWB. I do like them and they seem to be a unique color, they just were not what I expected. Take a look at these pcitures below.

what is the style number in the lwb to resolve if it is whiskey or ravello

Was thinking about some picking up the Indys as well. Went to the local store and they didn't have my size. He wanted to fit me again before ordering.

This time he said the 10.5D was too big. He thought I should be in a 10.5C. Or less ideal, but also would work a 10D.

Now I'm lost.
11 in Nike
10 in Clarks
11 in Adidas
10 in Cole Han (these are a little snug in the toe width).

I would hate to wait months on a special order shoe and have it not work.

You probably ordered the jump boots a half size too big. They are on the Trubalance last, which is one of the largest, widest lasts for Alden. It is generally recommended that you size down a half size on that particular last, though if you wear thick socks, you still might be able to get away with the size that you ordered.

For what it's worth, I'm a 9D on the Brannock and wear a 9D in most Alden lasts, but with the Trubalance last, the 8.5 D works better for me.

I checked the style number. It's 9750. I'm pretty sure that's the number for Ravello. As comparion I took a picture of your LWB in Whiskey and my LWB in Ravello. They are similar. Keep in mine that mine are almost brand new so that haven't had a chance to get lighter with age.

I believe 9750 is the style number for Ravello longwings.

In my experience, Ravello and Whiskey both darken with age, rather than lighten.

Nice loafers mac! Love the antique soles on them instead of the usual black. Oh, and as usual nice socks.

Too bad you two can't each afford a pair - maybe if you bought fewer shoes?

You could look at it as a unique trait of your shoe. Handmade things are not always precision perfect, but they have character. You notice it now when they are brand new, but after the creases start (and maybe you won't like where they fall), it will not be noticeable.

That said, go with your gut.

Look at you with your jokes. Ha! Don't forget about the boots, too.

Great shoes Mac.
I've been looking for the #8 LHS with the antique edge trim. Anyone know where to find them?

Thanks
