1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

Loden looks good with jeans, khakis, trousers in any kind of brown or grey. Heck, I wear my loden ranger moccs with all my casual pants and even shorts with no socks. I think it's quite versatile. I'm anxiously waiting for my loden Indy boots which may or may not ever come into existence

Got my first pair of Alden Irregulars today.

I'm pretty happy with them. Minor blemishes include some darker spots on the shoes. (Sand suede material). Chances are if I received these as a normal pair of Aldens, I would most likely keep them as well as I'm not that picky. As long as the stitching doesn't come undone or something of that extent, I'm a happy camper.

I know these shoes will get dirt sooner or later. Anyone got tips on cleaning sand suede? Thanks!

I get what you're saying. Black shell lacks that depth of color and does not "evolve" the same way that other shell colors do.

However, black shell does age beautifully and has superior durability to calf. If you want a black shoe or boot to look good for pretty much all eternity, shell is a great way to go.

I agree with you. I only have one pair in black shell (and don't plant to buy another any time soon) but they always look great. My BB PTBs always get compliments. I have had them for a few years now and they still look fresh. My calf shoes always look beat after a few years ( i hate the small creases that calf tends to get at the folds.)

Here's another example of stripping black edge trim for anyone interested. These were 2nds from shoemart - I wear them all the time but didn't mind taking a chance. They are kind of jackalopes with the Atom pattern and the eyelets but serving me well enough. I'm pretty happy, makes the shoe a little more interesting.

Disagree. PTBoot on trubalance is a great color and will look awesome beat to shit or shined up.

Black shell wingtip boots are weird imo, though.
