Well, after calling LSBH, that's four pairs of boots that I'm waiting for now.

Would love to find either Oxford or Indy shoe in natural Chrome excel in size 7E but have never seen this anything below a size 8. Hopefully a special order comes around that I can jump on.

Those are great. Nice, traditional, but unlike a whole lot of shoes on this thread not as dramatic. What last are they?

This is awesome. Thank you! [IMG]

Is there something similar for the different alden welts with pictures? and what they are each best suited for?

One for the different soles and heels would help me too. I feel like this really helped me get the names of the lasts down.

+1 that would be a big help

According to the J Crew site, they are on the Barrie Last. Also 20% off right now (only a few sizes left though).

Can someone verify the "Alden" color. J Crew lists it as Dark Brown but I am wondering if this is essentially the same as Color 8. Color 8 looks black on most online pics but I believe it is supposed to be a dark brown.

These are def not color 8. They are indeed dark brown. I have seen them in person.

Color 8 can eventually fade to something more like brown but it's really more of a burgundy color.
It looks black in so many pictures because of lighting.
    Cigar, whiskey, ravello, #4, #8.

+1. J. Crew's dark brown is super dark, to the point where the brown laces used are noticeably lighter.

20% off is such a rip off, it basically takes care of the tax and shipping. [IMG]
