Zippyh that is a great Alden collection! I'm really loving the Whiskey Indy boot, the Ravello NST boot and of course the #4 4x4's. Makes me want to wear my #4's right now.

    General question-
I just got a pair of LHS in Shell Color #8
Since one foot is longer than the other, I went down a 1/2 size. Problem is that the big toe on my larger foot is touching the front of the shoe. The other (smaller) foot fits great. Should I expect these to stretch a touch as they break in, or should I go the the cobbler and have him stretch the tight shoe?? Thanks for all the great info here and for some ideas!

    Shell doesn't stretch.

Very nice zippy! Question, ID on the left pair? Look like some kind of shortwing/longwing combo that I've never seen before. What last/leather are they, and where'd you snag them? Look v interesting.

    Thanks zippy!

Seeing that shoe on the Aberdeen next to your Barrie longwings (I assume those are Barrie) makes me re-realize how inelegant the Barrie can be. Functional and comfortable, for sure, but still...

Have been looking for shell longwings on the Aberdeen or Leydon for a while now and it seems impossible.

Zippy - As Vox used to say "Jeebus!" As a golfing buddy of mine says "Holy Shitania." Great family portraits. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah, those other ones are also from LS.

Not a longwing, but Alden of Carmel has some Leydon wingtips in #8.

Aries, those #8s actually look like cigar shell to me. Interesting the different looks, based on wear and lighting.

Firstly, I only just saw zippy's post on the previous page, sweet tapdancing mother of Christ!

Sazon - Yes, in sunlight they definitely take on the patina between #8 and cigar, it's fascinating to look at.

In artificial light, they look like a lighter hue of #8 (with marbling).
