I prefer a commando soul on that boot (albeit this one doesn't have the perforated cap):

Are those the same boots? The Unionmade website mentions the Grant last whereas the J.Crew website mentions the Barrie last. ???

You're seriously asking for help on tying your shoes?

Yep, these are today's Alden fans

Are those the same boots? The Unionmade website mentions the Grant last whereas the J.Crew website mentions the Barrie last. ???

If you can't even tell, what does it matter?

It matters because I know which size fits my foot the best in the Barrie last.

Agree on the sole issue... I really liked the look of the shoe, and was ready to buy, but then saw the sole. I would have preferred either a single waterlock or even the Goodyear mini lug.

Yea, not like I can even wear the LHS or anything, but still...if they had done the dark edgetrim with a single waterlock, I wouldn't have found it as repugnant as I did the sole they chose. Seems like a waste of some natural CXL to me.

Speaking of...natural plain toe boots again today. I love these things.

Although not Alden, just wanted to give Leather Soul, and specifically Bryan at Leather Soul Beverly Hills some kudos for the quick processing and shipment of my new Whitehouse Cox and Co brown shell cordovan wallet. It is a little on the larger size, but has plenty of room for cards, business cards, cash and receipts.

Just a few notes on the wallet. The leather is buttery soft, and although it is listed as brown I think it is more between brown and color 8. Should patina quite nicely.

    Here are some pics:

Is it worth it because it's Horween or is it overpriced because it's Horween?

Not shoes, but something Horween, that you might want to kick with your shoes.
