1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

My left and right don't crease the same either. Gives them character.

also prefer the captoe for looks on boots, especially with shell creasing. but I run into another problem on occasion as the position of the captoe can sometimes cause pinching at the toe if it lands at the wrong spot. Had it occur on a pair of grant lasted captoes and 2 pairs of trickers.

Your Natty CXL PTBs are looking very nice. I enjoy natural lighting on your pictures, even if it means going higher ISO.

Can someone tell me the difference between this and the cordovan indy boot. Is it just the last?

I have wanted a cordovan indy boot, but cannot find them in my exact size. This one is. I think I would be just as happy with these. Does the last, in your opinion, make it much more dressy than the indy? I mean, is it still acceptable with jeans?

This is quite different than the normal Indy boot, since the Plaza last is much sleeker than TB. I much prefer the Plaza last myself, but again, it gives the boot quite a different look compared to an Indy on the TB last.

As a matter of fact, the Indy on Plaza (some wouldn't call it an Indy, even) is one of my favorite Alden models.
I would wear it with raw denim and dark blue jeans but not lighter ones. (I wouldn't wear light blue jeans, period.)

Also, as you probably already know, you probably need to go up half a size from your Barrie (and TB) size. In my experience the Plaza last fits true to size.

Your Black Shell LHSes are looking terrific and are a good pairing with your jeans today. I hope that you enjoyed your day today.

ShoeLover, yes, this is what I have started calling the "Dr. Jones" boot due to it being made on the much more formal Plaza Last, as opposed to the much more traditional Indy boot last of the Trubalance Last.

I would consider the boot, semi-formal, to be honest and can be fairly flexible going from jeans to khakis/chinos to slacks. It also features speed hooks and the commando sole.

The Plaza Last is a "True-to-Size" Last and is on the narrower end of the Alden spectrum.

My original post with pics of these can be found here:
