1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I went with my barrie size on my van last whiskey loafer and my right foot fits great sockless or with a thin sock but my right foot is quite tight across the strap and by the end of the day with my foot swelling I actually get a mark on my foot from the strap. I have had them for quite a while and they have really never given too much in terms of them stretching or the insole depressing to give me some extra room. I have a pair in unlined suede in the same size and those have given quite a bit and are more than comfortable now.

I would like to try a size 8D at some point to see if it would be better.

That makes me happy.... because mine arrive tomorrow!

Question for those of you that size up .5 in Barrie for the boot (I'm looking at the J. Crew PCT), but stay D width (I am 9.5D and questioning whether I can take a 10D). Do you find your regular Barrie size (in this case my 9.5D) tight, loose, etc?

I LOVE the wonderfully cool boot weather we've had this week. Just took these off and find they are still one of my favorite boots. CXL is so comfortable.

I posted these images in response to a discussion on the Viberg thread about inconsistent creasing/rolling between left & right boots made of CXL. Other CXL boots that I've owned over the years have had some significant variation between left & right except these...Ultimate Jumpers x LS. The only CXL in the rotation.

It's amazing how much variation there is in this sizing question on the Jcrew captoe. I'm a tweener on Barrie but I typically go 8.5 and wear with thin socks. I generally size up for boots because I wear thicker socks. The Jcrew captoe is my only boot that I need to size up simply to wear a thin sock. Others report no difference but put me in the camp of those who find this model a little snugger than other barrie boots. Strange at how the responses vary so much on this .

Boots are nice Mike (really nice) but I'm lovin the pants as well. I also like the discreet display of ankle. Don't see that very often with boots. Nicely played.

That was my exact experience. I went with Barrie sizing on the Van lasted 986 LHS. The strap was super tight and the heel was loose. I wore them sparingly for several months and while they've become somewhat more comfortable, I still don't enjoy wearing them as it becomes painful after an hour or so. Planning to sell them but haven't gotten around to it yet. I've concluded that the Van last just won't work for me.

These look unreal! Great color on these. Further confirming I need a pair. They look amazing, my friend. Enjoy them and wear often!
Amazing shade of Ravello, bud. Much nicer than my short-lived Brownvello of 2014. They look great!
