1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

furthermore, shoes that have already needed a restore due to heavy wearing by someone else are never worth a restore by you. you're buying old beat shoes for $100+ then paying $150+ to restore them? you end up paying $250+ for old uppers / leather and a footbed broken into someones else's foot. that's crazy.

I'm all about lightly used shoes and the secondary market in general, you can get a tremendous shoe collection at a massive discount. I have rare color shell, C&J's, exclusive sought after models, etc (LIndrick, C&J Peal shell boot, Ultimate Indy, AE Kenwood in cigar shell, color 8 LHS, whiskey venetian) and on average I paid about $250 per.

but shoes that have already been worn say 35 - 50 times...nope

I am glad, you are looking mighty fine and those look like nice new Selvedges. Still has the fuzz on them. :)
Looking superb as always BK!!! :)
That is tough between the 975 (Color 8 LWBs) and the 563 (Color 8 Tassel). Both are very special shoes and Alden invented the modern tassel loafer as we now know it, but I still have to give the edge to the 975. Same mode has been in production since 1958. Originally only cost $15 per shoe or $30 per pair.
    Looking superb Don!!!
    Those are superb my friend.
I concur. It is a great model and was my first foray into the AldenArmy. I absolutely love my pair. Yours looked mighty fine today! -Mike

Thanks for your kind words. I am glad that you made a decision. Yours definitely sounds like a reasonable one. Having your wife like them is definitely a huge bonus. I look forward to seeing these SWBs and the shoes that follow in their footsteps.

I had those FB boots briefly and sadly returned them as the Grant last was just a touch stunning. They were amazing though.

These will be my first Grant last Aldens... Neervous to see whether they fit well on me! I have managed suede Hampton in 8.5D and shell Plaza in 8.5E so I am optimistic.

Speaking of Tassels and Hampton boots. I saw the picture of the milkshake suede Hampton boots on their Instagram a few weeks ago and was very impressed! I think Hampton looks great as a boot last.

Whoa, I've got to refine my eBay search criteria as I never saw these beaut's and I'm pretty sure we're around the same size. That is an incredible score BL. Nice pic.
