Fabulous blucher. Still regretting not pulling the trigger when I had the chance. Enjoy often and in great health my friend!

#8 Navals just arrived via UPS. Anyone else get them? I don't think I've seen pictures ITT just yet.

They're in great condition (only minor flaw is a 1" crease on the right boot's shaft that I attribute to the Alden boxes being so inadequate!) but pretty dark. I'm eager to see them tomorrow when the sunshine is hitting my window.

I saw this comparison before, and I own the walnut shell Daltons currently, but I agree the ravello wtb is the winner here hands down; and my grail wtb. I'll sell my Daltons if I ever get my hands on one :)

just my second post and very late to the alden party. bought ae as a kid in 1964 and first alden a month ago. today my ship landed. two shoes on the same day with perfect fit. first was the snuff suede from Yenni in 11 e with commando soles and the second a pair of luxury comfort oxfords in 11 ee. hit a home run in fit on both pair. I am certainly learning from your posts and listening carefully to this thread.

Looking good in your Banana Boots DV. Lovely color on them.

Adam, those are some sweet Wingtips. Thanks for sharing!

Congrats on your new 975s, they look very good and glad that the fit is good!

    Unlined loafers rock!

CMT, welcome over here, it is nice to see you here! Those are superb boots and your photos look great!

Good luck, I think that you made a good decision...

Unfortunately, I was in the same boat as Repp. I loved my Color 8 Daltons and Walnut Shell Daltons until I got my first Alden Boot. I ended up never wearing the Walnut Shell Daltons and ended up selling them for the price that I paid for them after sitting on them for a few years. The boots were beautiful and the unlined nature of them was awesome, but they just didn't feel that good on and I hated their eyelets. This is a preferential thing, but I thought that their spacing was just off for the proportion of the boot... Anyways, congrats on your boots!

    Looking Superb, Mike!

IMO, the Daltons is no where close to Alden's WT Boots. Alden does it way much better.

definitely agree with this. to my eye there was always something just a bit off with the Dalton and I think you hit it. credit to @zippyh on the pic.

all the shell is super nice, just feel the spacing on the vamp on the Dalton is a bit off

thanks for the kind words gentlemen. banana power!!!
    UNICORN ALERT!!!
    outstanding sir, outstanding!
in all fairness, 99.9% of shoes/boots lose against the ravello sw boot. (including #8 boots [IMG])

    nicely played dubs.
    perfect combo.

Yes, I agree with you completely on the vamp proportions. The Alden and Lindricj is much more in proportion. Also the lack of pinking on the AE also bothered me on the Dalton. But push comes to shove, they are all fantastic boots.

Also dalton felt a little top heavy. I owned a walnut shell dalton for a couple days and felt it would have benefited from a thicker looking outsole

Totally agree on the Dalton -- the eyelet spacing feels weird. I think AE just can't make boots. Look at these new travesties they came out with for Fall. Just awful.
