1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Very good point, that hadn't occurred to me at all. Rare makeups (especially shell) are not easily had in different widths. Stock models can at least be ordered in E. It may take a while but, they'll make them.

I have a New in the box pair of Marlow Wingtips Cigar Shell Cordovan size 9.5D. Never worn and hence zero creases. These things are beautiful .. I would consider a straight across trade for Alden Shell new same condition. Barrie 9D, Van 9D, others are 9.5D if TTS. Box bags and all. Basically got these one a one time promo that places them in the same field price wise a a rare Alden Shell. What's sitting up in your closet for trade bait? Will post in B&S some pics later ... If this is inappropriate here let me know and I'll delete muy pronto.

Many folks take the same size across all Viberg lasts, which is often 1/2 size down from brannock. The 2030 is definitely the sleekest of their lasts. For reference, I'm a measured 11D and take a 10.5D in barrie and TB lasts. I'm also a 10.5 on Viberg's 2040 last which has much more volume than the 2030. I'm not sure the 2030 would work for me but I'd likely try a 10.5 first based on what I've read in the Viberg thread.

    2030 rocks

Love me some brown cxl Indy. One of my go to's. They are the older J Crew version that had the more natural color thread and not the true white

    Agreed patrick.

I having a bit of Alden mental block i have a few preorders in waiting but I am kind of torn between a natural cxl indy,405, or color8.

    Indy boot is just awesome.

If you read my other post, I specifically said I didn't want to hasten any darkening, hence my question about neatsfoot vs. Venetian. Maybe you meant to quote ylku?

In any case, looking forward to stomping around in these things!

This doesn't make sense to me. A $250 pair of hiking boots (Lowa or Asolo) bought for $125 at Sierra Trading Post will give you better traction and support and will keep your feet dry (although not in knee-deep water.) They are also relatively maintenance free and will last longer than Indy boots. It's probably a more acceptable look on the trail as well. Alden makes a nice shoe and I've been wearing them longer than most people on here, but when another shoe makes more sense, I'll wear it. I'm not afraid to be seen in a non-Alden shoe as some of you seem to be.
