There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Alright guys, this stuff gets asked at nauseam but please bare with me...trying to nail down my size in Barrie.

    I wear
Trubalance 10.5D (roomy everywhere -- almost too much -- but it fits comfortable and good with thick socks)
    Hampton 11D - very comfortable
    Van 10.5D - very comfortable
Barrie 10.5D -- good in length but tight in toe box
Grant 11D -- good in length but tight in toe box

I have a high instep and it seems like most of the shell boots and shoes I want are typically made in Barrie last. Would taking Barrie in 10.5E be a possibility or does the E vs D become really big everywhere?

I don't really have good options for trying them one. There is one shop in Toronto that has limited stock that I may try but interested to hear.

And if I get no responses no worries. I know this topic is so subjective and I've read numerous posts online with similar questions.

    Thanks guys...

10D in trubalance? I've thought about it but I've never heard of anyone sizing down a full size.

How does your heel fit in the 10.5D Barrie?
I would think the E would help with the toe box pressure but if you have narrow heels, or mdubs ankles :hide: , you may open up a different issue with too much wiggle room.

My experience is the difference in size from D to E is not all that much but still enough to notice the larger fit. How's that for a subjective answer lolz

Same experience. I was actually going to say that after the maiden voyage, I thought the J Crew PCT seemed to fit larger than other Barrie lasted shoes/boots.

I am 11.5 D in brannock. I wear 11D in Trubalance and Barrie. But I just found out that I can fit Van 10E just fine (sockless even with thin socks)..

Quick sizing question. For those who own Van and Barrie, do you size differently?

I sized the same. But I found the Van last didn't work very well for me. Heel too wide, toes too squished. But YMMV.

According to all that I know, Trickers are like unto the Alden's of Northampton England.

I have read great things from men who know their stuff.

Several of the chaps who frequent this thread and have serious Alden collections, also have Trickers.

    Here is what I know:

    1. In general I would rate Trickers slightly better than Alden.
    2. However, Trickers does not use Horween cordovan....
    3. Nevertheless, they are one of the only non-Horween shoemakers that I would even consider.

Therefore, Trickers are on my list to get a pair. They have a very cool MTO program through Richard of the Shoe Healer in England and are also fairly affordable. Actually being a little cheaper than Alden.

Hope this is helpful and obviously some of what I say is completely subjective.

    Thanks.

    Thank you sir.

Thanks! They are actually King WT boots. You need boots when biking around Detroit. Slow Roll looks cool, but unfortunately I live in Ann Arbor, so unlikely to join it anytime soon.

I size the same as well. A little tight for the Van, but ok as its a loafer.
