1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

carpet helps with eliminating scratches, but you cannot bend them with that much force. if you were buying these shoes from someone else, would you accept them as new? probably not

    Just a few quick thoughts.......

    • I can't put my finger on why, but these shoes have the look of an owner who thoroughly enjoys wearing his shoes. Don't get me wrong, they look amazing, but they have aged well.
What strikes me most (other than the obvious variety) is how little variation there seems to be in the colors. There seems to be little variation within each color. Ravello's look the same and the same observation within the whiskey and #4's. Maybe Aldens QC is not as bad as some would lead you to believe.
Lastly, I have enjoyed this post as much as any I have read. Thanks for taking the time to stage and post.

@Shawnc the end of the day they are all brown and the more they get worn the more they will all start to look alike.

I have some older number 8 that essentially looks brown too. Most on here have such extensive rotations that their shells will probably retain their original color much longer.

Edit: Nevermind. Just looked them up on Moulded Shoe's IG account. Very cool repair.

Speaking of J Gilbert - just saw they are running a 20% off sale on some Alden last pairs. Sizing is hit or miss but some nice suede options.

Missed being able to fit those hunter green suede LWBs by one half size!! Finding something in green suede in 10.5 3e has been a personal unicorn hunt.

However, I take this as confirmation that the plaza last does in fact exist in 3e. Funny, because I called J Gilbert about it and they told me it wasn't possible...

Not sure if Alden made hunting green stock on LWB, but it is available as a stock material on several other designs.

Give Yenni at B&M a call for odd sizes, she will call the factory and double check for you. I was able to order a 7EE unlined suede chukka on the Leydon last when several stores told me it was impossible.
