Hey guys,
A while ago I nabbed these shell BB PTBs from a thrift shop. I posted them here. The soles were at the end so I sent them to B Nelson. I opted to get the crepe soles on them. I just got them back and they look great. I commented that these look almost cigar like but Alden/BB never made them in Cigar. Just burgundy and black. I'll take a pix of them in the sunlight when I wear them to see if you can still see any burgundy.

They don't have that leather cover on the tip that some of the Alden crepes come with. Also, many of you commented that crepe is as heavy as a double leather sole, but these feel pretty light (lighter than a new dble sole?). Sorry I didn't weigh them beforehand. I asked for a darker crepe and Nick complied. I didn't want that orangy or yellow crepe.

Took 5 weeks to get them back. Total damage was $150 (shipped both ways). Thanks, Nick.

nice. im always intrigued by refurbs. b. nelson did a great job here. Id prefer to send a couple pairs back to alden for refurb but I dont want them to touch the uppers, which they probably will. B.nelson is slightly cheaper however they dont replace the insole

Alden doesn't replace the insole either. BNelson does nice work.

My new Ravello LHS, no socks, linen pants. I feel like Columbus on the shores of a brave new world...
(...just like Columbus) Yah, instead of slaughtering Native peoples, you're participating in the slaughter of horses. I'm okay with the later.

BTW, those are spectacular-looking LHS.

Mac's shoes are like glass. Alden hasn't done shell that smooth for a while.
