I'm currently testing this on my slightly odd colored Ravello PTB's. It's been almost a week of the darker one sitting out on a window sill, but unfortunately it's been cloudy almost that entire time. I'm going to leave it there for another 2 weeks at least - I'll be sure to post the results here.

Thanks hoit. Mine are also ravello and would not have been available NIB at my price point without the color variance. Fortunately it's only noticeable to shoe junkies and in certain light. Having said that, I'm willing to give this a try if it makes sense.

I'll be looking for your results. Again, thanks for the response and good luck.

I know you mean no harm, and I don't know any veterans personally so it doesn't really bother me, but I could see people taking this as being disrespectful/inappropriate. I think Thanksgiving is more appropriate to post something like this. Memorial day is a day commemorating the veterans and the men/women who died protecting our country so you can enjoy your $700 shoes...

Congrats DonL! I absolutely love the Sand Suede color on the LHS pattern. Mine are the unlined version, which I liked the feel of better, but the lined BB version typically has cleaner stitching around the toe due to the extra rigidity provided by the lining. I got them for a deal that I could not pass up on and so the decision for the unlined was made for me.

Enjoy yours! I assume that you got a sweet deal during the recent sales events?

I love my Aldens but am kind of on a Viberg kick right now and these certainly give a really cool work boot vibe. The toes almost look unstructured. Very nice.
