1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I decided chukkas are my favorite boots. Those are beautiful. Enjoy both the boots and the whisky, sir!

I thought that this group might find this amusing.
Was really excited to stumble upon this J Gilbert in Arizona (whilst on vacation). Unfortunately, this AZ sister store to the Seattle one sells no Alden!

Does anyone know if there is another retailer that sells the Color 8 Dover with antique edge like the Leffot model? I missed out on the pre-order and am on the waiting list if a spot opens up but was hoping to pick them up here in the next month or two for the summer... Any tips would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

So the trick to mdubs' shoe conditions is to only wear NIB shoes!

(But seriously, I am eager for Friday's "Here's how to care for your shoes" release!)

Do they make LHS in C widths?

Yes they do. I wear a C width on the LHS. The 986 and 987 can be ordered from any larger Alden shop, I got mine from Alden DC in C in Black, Color 8 and Cigar. If they don't have it, they can do an add to run in which it will be made for you when Alden does the next batch of that stock model (usually goes into production within 2 months)...

They should make a lot more of the LHS in C width. Probably lots of D width wearers out there would be better off with a C in that model.

I don't normally like grain boots, but these look excellent! Especially paired with those khakis.

Is anyone here "pragmatic-icon" on Ebay? He has a number of nice Alden make-ups in 10D. Looks like he is trying to trim down his collection by dumping a bunch of solid stock pairs (and one or two exotic shell colors)

Plain toe on Truebalance from the shoe mart. They used to call them the plain toe indy.
