1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

Not sure tbh, I think it was because the whiskey were so difficult to find and I had finally found a pair that would fit my feet so I jumped on them. I'm sure an 8.5D would have fit just as well. I do remember that with thinner socks they tended to slip a little and caused some heel blisters, so perhaps 8.5D is my size.

Most people have good luck wearing the same size, so I'd start with the 8.5D and go from there.

Stay on carpet and try them on at the end of the day when you've been on your fee the longest, and they are the most swollen.

If you pull this off, please take notes on how. Although i suspect most of us have long since surpassed the 1-2 pairs. Versatility is a hollow word around here. Every time i look at a new pair of Alden's i say to myself, "These will be super versatile and i can wear them all the time." Which would be true if i only had 1-2 pairs. Hence the predicament.

Haha yep, as someone who has dabbled in a variety of hobbies, I know this to be true. However, my strategy for keeping the herd thin might end up being my modest teacher's salary haha.

Shame you aren't 1/2 size smaller. I might have been able to help you out with the whiskey LWB. ;)

    Quick question:

Headed to TSM soon to go try on a pair of color 8 lwb. After doing some research, I really like the antique edging. If I wanted to have a cobbler sand down the black and change it is this possible?Seems like the makeups with the antique are not available at the moment.

I like the idea of making them more casual.

I say order from J Crew if they have your size. Their returns are easier than anyone's, especially if you have one near by.

Just to echo what others have said. If you want to be content with 1 or 2 pairs.... don't buy Aldens! You will surely become addicted.

Regarding sanding down the edge, it is possible but you will still be left with a dark welt (stiching).

    I would go with 8.5e.

Yep, that's what I was thinking as well, so I placed an order for some 975 8.5E a couple hours ago :D
