There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

The unlined chukka is also a great snuff suede model. I wear mine year round with chinos & jeans.

My vote is wingtip boot. Specifically the Leffot Plaza version. :)

But I have the PTB, WT Boot, LHS and owned a LWB. All are great models and you will be happy with any of the them.

It certainly is. I sort of equate the PTB with the chukka as they look nearly identical with pant legs draped over them.

You certainly can not go wrong with the plaza boot, but given its chiseled, dressy look, I think the suede wingtip boot is better suited to the more casual barrie last. To each his own though... [IMG]

They are both great, but yes, two gentlemen can agree to disagree on minor points. :)

Not really sure why they are going to the (single) flex soles. When I was in NYlast fall, Anthony at AoMadison showed me the new snuff LWBs. He said Alden was phasing out the double leather in favor of the flex soles. I suppose they are very popular with all of the unlined suede and chrmxl make-ups like the PTB, Dover, Chukka, etc... The website may have the double leather on its catalog for now, and AofSF may still have the double leather sole version online, but that may change in the near future.

Added some Toppy's to these LHSes... Pretty happy with the result...

Figured that I should start on a pair of seconds... Just went to my local cobbler. Did a good job in my book...

I thought that the stamp placement here was kind of funny.

Interesting. I would definitely prefer the double soles. I'm headed down to DC next weekend for a short trip with the wife. What she doesn't know is that I'm planning an excursion to see Kathy and that seeing the DC store for the first time is my number one priority on the trip.

Hopefully they have they have a few Snuff suede models and I can look at in person. I've seen decent color variation in pictures of snuff suede online so I think it may make sense to buy in person. Or is it possible that the variation is just due to the lighting?

Also - regarding AoM above. Anthony is a great guy. He's young and not as knowledgable as others, but he's probably my favorite Alden salesman. Good dude. I like giving him my money.

No, Snuff definitely varies in real life... Kathy has a number of Snuff make ups in stock. Chukka, LHS, PTBs, and Semi-Brogue Balmoral all come to mind... Have a good trip!

P.S. Anthony and Curtis are both great! :)
