1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Can anyone compare sizing and build quality of the Rancourt welt line penny loafer and Alden LHS? Considering a pair of shell loafers and am not sure how they stack up to the Aldens.

Didn't really know if I could get into black shell, especially in a PT boot. But holy crap these are great.

Does anyone knows what is the estimate charge by USA Customs when ordering a pair of Shell boots from Frans Boone or any other place outside of the US?

zero. frans mark the item as made in the USA so you don't get charged. can't comment on other non-US retailers but you could probably tell them to mark that way before they ship.

Awesome DV! Btw, were you the one who snagged that footjoy burgundy shell wingtip bal on the bay a week or two ago? Really mad that I forgot to bid before close of auction. I guess I made it cheaper for you! (if that was in fact you)

    Thank you my friend.
If you're talking about the 10.5 shell footjoys, I wish you would have bid, I was the seller. They did go cheap, $86.

My Frans saddles(not shell) were, I believe, $517 USD. I was then hit with a $51 fee from UPS. Seems like UPS can choose to asses this fee or not. I think its based on declared value. Some get charged while others dont. Its the main reason i dont use UPS if i can help it. Seems way to shady/sketchy that some are assessed these fees while others arent. I even brought that up to the UPS guy and he just was like,"Uh...its a standard issue fee that we cannot waive it." I called BS and just shrugged his shoulders. Rant over....WooSah

Mike, I figured you already had a G6 based on all the coast-to-coast Alden SD to Alden DC excursions.

I always assumed he had a hover board or a jet pack based off his creaseless shoes/boots.

I live in Canada and recently went through this also luckily friend told me if you tell the UPS guy you want to self-clear the package ups will drop it off at customs in your city. Customs called me within 24hrs went filled out paper work only paid the gst on package. Hope this helps
