It's only really noticeable in direct sunlight. In the shade I can't really imagine the color difference being too strange. At this price, I'm thinking an Alden refinishing might be the way to go. Honestly, Ravello or Cigar PTB's in 12.5D are not easy to come by. If I sent them to Alden and the returned as Cigar's I would also be very happy...

Goo luck hoit. I hope it works out for you. I haven't seen a good "rare" refinish yet. Color 8 comes back nearly black, whiskey and ravello comes back looking odd. Keep us posted.

Those look nice sazon. Do u usually wear tassels? I don't and have not bought the blue suede tassels fearing I wouldn't wear them. How did it go today?

Looking sharp, Sazon. Alden's aberdeen loafers (both tassels and full strap) are great for weekday wear

Hoit, it sounds to me like you want to keep them. I say go for it if that is what you want.

I think you are hitting the nail very close to the head. I'm going to explore the options.

+1.  Most people who come here asking for advice just want others to confirm what they have already decided in their own minds, myself included.  But the process of hearing others' opinions is certainly cathartic, for lack of a better word.

I agree with this, and it certainly applies to my situation. I am very interested in hearing the opinions of others who have been in similar situations.

Thanks MrDV - I will definitely keep you and the thread posted on any developments.

Hoit, i think if ALden can take the two shoes refinish them and they comeback looking similar to Ravello and alike you'll be a happy camper. Hell, if they come back looking like cigar, even a bigger winner ( just my opinion :) )

Can't wait to see how the story unfolds

A few pages back folks were wondering how the navy CXL would work with dark jeans. Here's Alden for J.Crew with RRL once washed denim combo.

It's very likely they will come back looking quite dark. I am not crazy about the way Alden refinishes anything cordovan other than black and number 8. Good luck though.

Hmm, those look much better on the foot than I would have imagined. I think the contrast laces and sole help break up all the navy.
