1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Got these off of eBay a while ago - Alden shell for Brooks Brothers. There seems to be a buildup of polish on most of the shoes. I've attached two pics where it was easy to photograph. I've spent some time brushing them but it hasn't done much on the buildup. Any suggestions on cleaning these up are greatly appreciated.

And here is a full pic of the shoes:

I have a new pair of the 403 Ultimate Indy in 10.5D and I'm not sure If I should keep them or sell them and get the 405s. I already have the Roy boot and their both CXL, so I don't think I want two boots that are the same color. Any opinions?

I completely concur with Don L on this one - the renomat will strip that crud off, and then the Reno will replenish the hide. You may also want to consider Saphir Black Cordovan Creme post Reno

Nice shoes, post the after results.

    Cheers,
    BN

Does anyone have any recommendations for polishing apline grain leather? My boots are scuffed already and I dont know what to put on them. I usually use montana pitch blend or Venetian shoe cream...

I want to say Saphir mahogany but personally have no clue. I've been curious myself. The alpine grain doesn't seem like normal calf skin.

Just use any good brown polish. Unless there's an issue that I'm not aware of?

Public service announcement. I just went to the shoe mart. They have ravello wingtip boots in Stock in 9e. One pair only. They are factory seconds.

No major issues! Just not sure what people use to polish their alpine grain leather...
